Timesavers have been given a donation from the West Lancs Freemasons. There was a presentation for the donation of £500 on Saturday 14th February at O’Brien’s Tea Rooms which is the headquarters of the West Lancs Freemasons. Timesavers were of one of the local charities who received a donation. The money received will be used to purchase office equipment to help people in West Lancashire with moderate learning disabilities gain work experience in office skills to help them find permanent employment.
Edward McCarthy (Trustee and Secretary) said “I would like to thank the Aughton Lodge for our donation and the donations they gave to other local charities/beneficiaries. A lot of people in West Lancashire give up their time to support good causes and it is nice to these good causes receiving these additional donations which will help them in the future.”
Timesavers was set up nearly 5 years ago by a group of parents who were concerned about the lack of paid jobs or work experience placements in administration for people with moderate learning difficulties in West Lancs.
John Haggart (Chairman) said “This donation will help us to purchase some much needed office equipment and we are all very grateful to Aughton Lodge for their generous gift.”
“Our charity aims to help overcome barriers to their employability by supporting them to gain further skills and work experience in all aspects of office work such as typing, computer skills, photocopying, filing, shredding together with improving their communication skills.
Timesavers are looking for local companies who could provide the charity with some admin. work for our clients to carry out either in our office or on their premises to help give them a broader range of skills. We would provide our clients with any support or training they might require. If you can help our charity please contact me.”
